 Before moving to Pennsylvania, Jerry fished the waters of the Catskill Mountains and the local wild trout  waters of New Jersey.  He learned how to tie flies from the best Catskill tiers in the area and also had the opportunity to learned from some of the best tiers such as, Eric Leiser, Gary Borger, Jack Gartside, Gary LaFontaine, and Dave Whitlock.  He was able to get a few casting lessons from Lefty Kreh.

Jerry has won many awards for his fly tying, 1990 First Place for the Wet and Nymph Category for the Mid-Atlantic Fly Tying Classic, 1993 First Place Senior Division for the Wet and Nymph Category for the Mid-Atlantic Fly Tying Classic, 1993 First Place for the New Jersey State Fly Tying Championship Wet Fly Category,1994 2nd place for the Eastern Sports Show Fly Tying Contest in Pennsylvania, 1994 First Place Senior Division Nymph Category for the Northeast Fly Tying Competition, 1995 First Place Senior Division Salmon Fly Category for the Northeast Fly Tying Competition, 1999 First Place Senior Division Nymph Category for the Greater Philadelphia Fly Tying Classic, and 1999 10th place for the World Mustad Scandinavian Open Fly Tying Competition for the Nymph Class.

Jerry has been a guest tier at the World Fly Fishing Show, giving demonstrations on "How to Spin Deer Hair".  His new endeavor is creating a DVD on How to Tie Flies.  But most of all just spending time with his two boys.
