With Summer just around the corner I thought I would tie a hopper pattern. Many people are not fond of spinning deer hair and tying bullet heads can be difficult. I found a little tool that makes this easy the Bullethead Tool from Griffin Enterprises. You can use any style body you want for this, foam, yarn, fur dubbing and even deer hair. It easy and simple.

Thread:      Cream or Yellow Monocord
Body:        Yellow yarn
Over Wing::  Turkey Tail
Head:            Elk Hair

Bullet Head Tools.

Step 6

Pull the elk hair back forming a bullet head. Put the bullethead tool over the elk hair forming the head
.

Step 7

Wrap the thread behind the bullethead tool.. Then remove the tool

Step 8

Tie in the rubber legs on each side.  For those who need a little help seeing the fly on the water.  Tie in some orange yarn on the top.
