With Summer just around the corner I thought I would tie a hopper pattern. Many people are not fond of spinning deer hair and tying bullet heads can be difficult. I found a little tool that makes this easy the Bullethead Tool from Griffin Enterprises. You can use any style body you want for this, foam, yarn, fur dubbing and even deer hair. It easy and simple. Step 1
|
Tie in the yellow yarn to form the body |

Step 2
|
Create a body at least 3/4 of the hook shank |
|
Step 3
|
Tie in the overwing of Turkey Tail |
|
Step 4
|
Tie in the Elk hair with the tips extending past hook eye. |

Step 5
|
.Bring the thread back to the beginning of the
body. |

Bullet Head Tools. |

Step 6
|
Pull the elk hair back forming a bullet head.
Put the bullethead tool over the elk hair forming the head . |

Step 7
|
Wrap the thread behind the bullethead tool.. Then remove the tool |
|
Step 8
|
Tie in the rubber legs on each side. For those who need a little help seeing the fly on the water. Tie in some orange yarn on the top.
