About Jerry

Here are some books I feel are a great reference for fly tying.  Over time I will add more to the list and where you can buy them.

The Fly Tiers Benchside Reference Guide by Ted Leeson & Jim Schollmeyer.  Is a great book for anyone who is looking for fly tying information.  It contains materials, cookbook style fly recipes and tying techniques.  A must for a beginner or even a person who is an accomplished tier.  Excellent photos.  Click on the book for more information and where to purchase.

The Complete Book of Fly Tying by Eric Leiser.  I was very fortunate to learn from this master fly tier, and this book is just like being with him.  No book can substitute sitting down with a competent fly tying instructor but this book comes very close.  I like how it is broken down by type of fly and the illustrations are excellent.  No wonder why this is a classic.  Click on the book for more information and where to purchase.  You won't be disappointed.

The Book of Fly Patterns by Eric Leiser.  Every great cook has written a recipe book, in fly tying it not different.  Eric Leiser combed the word for different fly patterns, new and old.  This isn't a book to learn fly tying but a book of 1,000 patterns, Dries, Wets, Nymphs, Streamers, and Salmon.  Need to know a fly pattern's recipe, I would bet it's in this book.  Click on the book for more information.
